being a welder for almost 30 years. I understand alot about metal, and what makes this lock good. I've hardened steel myself. The same way they do with this lock. It raises the hardness of the steel, where it's harder than drill bits and saw blades. I use grinders everyday and I know how difficult it would be to cut this off. There is a YouTube channel called the lock picking lawyer. He is considered the best at picking locks. He actually had to custom make picking tools in order to pick this lock because there were no commercial pick tool available for this type of lock. It felt so good having this on my rv. I feel so much better now. Especially since my brother in laws rv was stolen 3 months ago.

It certainly looks the part. Now, I won't know how effective it really is at deterring would-be-thieves, until someone tries. The mere sight of this lock should discourage anyone from trying to break-into it.

Yes the lock is expensive, but you are more likely to lose your trailer if you use a cheaper lock. I have many different coupler locks and this one is the best. If you do not have insurance on your trailer, this is the way to go.

The tote bag fits perfectly for the altor hitch lock. It makes carrying the lock so much easier to carry. When not in use I put it in the front access storage in the camper.

After a lot of research, I settled on an ICON hitch lock for my new trailer. Other locks out there carrying 5-star reviews that are cheaper, and there is no lock that cannot be defeated. That said, this lock is a brute and will take a significant amount of time to defeat, I don't care what you throw at it. The other locks that I saw, with 5-star ratings only took minutes to defeat with a simple crowbar when you dug deeper. If you have a trailer that is worth some money, this is the lock you need/want. Spend the extra bucks for the peace of mind this lock will provide.

I discovered Altor locks after watching the LockPickingLawyer on Youtube. I am very pleased with all 25 pounds of it! The customer service is outstanding. If I get another trailer, then I'll buy another Altor lock.

This is very heavy duty as described, it would probably be easier to cut then weld a new tongue on instead of trying to remove the "ICON"
